FEELING THROUGH LAND AND SEA
Born and raised on the Bog Road in County Limerick, discovering the sea along the coast of Ireland and now living among the bogland of Williamstown, County Galway, Deirdre Burton paints the felt experience of Ireland’s land and Atlantic water.
Her intuitive paintings follow colour, texture and movement, from wildflowers, changing skies to cold water, waves and the warmth that returns afterwards.
Each work offers a moment of freedom, connection and a return to what it means simply to be alive.
Working primarily in acrylic, and occasionally in oil, Deirdre builds layers of colour with brushes and palette knives, creating texture, movement and feeling across the surface of each painting.
